Global Handwashing Day, observed every year on October 15, highlights one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to prevent disease- washing hands with soap. This year’s theme, “Clean Hands, Brighter Future,” emphasizes that good hygiene is not just a habit, but a cornerstone of public health that saves lives and strengthens communities.
In Pakistan, Nisfeman Laboratories marked the occasion by partnering with Scinosa, a pioneering institution providing education, therapy, and vocational training for children with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.
Today, Scinosa supports nearly 190 students, most from underprivileged families, offering holistic education that includes speech therapy, physiotherapy, and hydrotherapy. Its vocational training department teaches practical skills like embroidery, stitching, block printing, and woodworking,helping nurture creativity and build confidence, independence, and pride.
Nisfeman organized an engaging handwashing awareness activity, where Scinosa students learned through fun, interactive demonstrations how clean hands protect against illness. The initiative turned hygiene education into a joyful, memorable experience for the children.
To further support the school, Nisfeman installed handwash dispensers, provided high-quality hygiene products, and distributed giveaways to 70 staff members, ensuring that hygiene awareness becomes part of daily life across the institution.
